Why is the bank switching from MasterCard to VISA?click to closeclick to open

We’re upgrading our service to offer VISA Debit with tap-to-pay feature. This expands how you can use your card. Better still, the tap-to-pay feature is more secure than swiping.

Call the bank for help. If your card was mailed in this program, we’ll verify that for you while you wait for delivery. If it’s been mailed, we recommend you wait. However, if you need it urgently for travel, we can provide you a card at the bank through our instant-issue service and cancel your pre-ordered card.

Yes. You will need to be proactive and create a list of automatic payments coming from your debit card. In our letter sent to your home, we’ve provided a list of the top 20 payment types that most customers automate. That list might help you double-check yourself as you contact your utilities or vendors who are paid automatically.

No. If you receive a new VISA Debit card from FNBT, follow the guidelines in the letter you receive or on the card to activate and begin using your new card!

Our reissue plan should have provided you the same Team Spirit Card image. If not, please visit the bank. We can provide you the right card using our instant-issue service at no charge to you.

Not all merchants are set up for tap-to-pay. You’ll be able to see by looking at the terminal if it allows contactless payments as an option. The popularity of tap-to-pay is increasing.Tap to Pay bank near me

Yes. This improves security, and your number will always change with an upgrade or replacement. This requires action by you, because your automated payments will need to be updated.

No, your new VISA Tap-to-Pay replacement card that we send to your home will not cost extra. But as always, if your card is lost or stolen, and you need a replacement, the fee is $7.50 for that.

Yes. Be sure to log into your UltimateID+ account and update your debit card information.

Yes. You can still insert the card into the terminal reader if tap-to-pay isn’t working.  And, for some older machines, you can still swipe the card on a terminal that will read the magnetic stripe on the back.  Your new VISA card offers three ways to pay, but the tap-to-pay feature is recommended where accepted because it’s the safest. Yes, you can at some ATMs, but not all of them accept that feature. If you don’t see the tap-to-pay symbol with four little stripes, then insert your card as usual. Tap to Pay bank near me

Clever thieves devise new ways to steal information (and your cash!), so the bank is always looking for smarter ways to protect you.  When you use the tap-to-pay method, you are transmitting to the merchant terminal in front of you only an electronic token for payment. The data transmitted does not include your VISA card number or any of your customer information. This improves your data security. Tap to Pay bank near me

Hang tight. We’re working with our vendor partners to get Apple Wallet (and GooglePay) enabled for your new Visa card. We’re in testing, and we expect to turn on that service very soon. [Subject to change.]

We’re working with SecurLOCK Equip to enable your new VISA card in early February. [Subject to change.]

You’ll want to double check that you added your new VISA debit card to the automatic payment information with your streaming service.

You’ll want to make sure you added your new card to your Amazon account and that all of the right information matches the new card.

To activate your new VISA card, you must be calling from the phone number tied to your bank account. If you’re having trouble, call the bank.  A MultiBanker can also help you activate your card without calling the 1-800 number. We’re here to help.

Nothing changes. Call the bank and order a new one. There is no fee to replace an expired card. We’ll make your new card a VISA Debit card if possible during this transition period.

Your MasterCard debit card provided by FNBT will expire March 31. We are sunsetting this program in order to provide VISA Debit to our customers. We’re doing this to improve security.  We believe strongly in advancing our services as technology improves.

No other changes. FNBT has elected to switch in order to improve services to you. That’s the bottom line. We’re always looking for ways to improve data security. We apologize for any inconvenience this change causes, but we believe it will be worth the effort. Your VISA Debit card will be accepted at just as many merchants as before.
